Add three parts miracle, two parts faith, and one part hope to get… The Rising Son.At the Trevi Fountain in modern-day Rome, tourists jostle for position to capture the best photos of a man who appears out of nowhere in the center of the fountain. Though they seem strangely drawn to him, no one can quite identify the stranger cloaked in beige robes. As the throng pushes forward, the robed man raises his hands and recites a prayer in a sonorous voice.As he speaks, the fountain’s waters shift from shimmering translucence to luscious dark red. The man then emerges from the fountain and strides into the crowd, vanishing as suddenly as he’d appeared.After authorities test the water, word leaks to the press that the holy waters have been turned into wine. Questions abound: Who is this man? How did he replace water with fine wine in broad daylight as tourists watched? Before long, the whole world wonders… miracle or hoax? Second coming or work of cunning? By the time the story concludes, the mystery will be solved, but the world may well wish they’d simply drunk from the body of water-turned-wine. Read more
